Woman Survives Car Crash and Forty Foot Drop, While on Fire
On Friday, Portland police reported that a woman who set herself on fire while she was driving, crashed her car, and jumped off of a highway bridge, survived all of this and is now being treated at a hospital in Portland. An emergency call was made by another driver, who had called police to report that she was driving recklessly on Interstate 105, and hit a median. She then crashed near an Exit in Eugene, which is about 110 miles south of Portland, states the Eugene Police Department. The woman, 39 years old, got out of her car and, still on fire, jumped off of the interstate highway bridge.
Nearby witnesses tried to stop her, but they did not succeed in their attempts. A local newspaper in Eugene reports that she began taking her clothes of before she fell, but the police did not verify this information. She fell forty feet to a park below. Shockingly, the woman did not sustain any critical or life threatening injuries, and police say that the believe that she was attempting to commit suicide. Another woman who was in the park below the highway, was hit by some of the falling debris from the car crash, but she was not seriously injured.
