Who is Zach Galifianakis?

Zach Galifianakis is a Greek-American actor, writer, and comedian. He is probably best known for his role as Alan Garner in ‘The Hangover’ series. Zach started his career about 1998 but became more prominent in 2001 with a special called ‘Comedy Central Presents’. In 2002, he also starred in his own show called ‘Late World with Zach’, which aired on VH1. 

Presently, he hosts ‘Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis’ and writes, stars, and produced the dark comedy series ‘Baskets’. These shows air on the Funny or Die Website and FX, respectively.

Galifianakis has appeared on several TV shows and movies portraying characters with varied personalities.  He has also been widely known for his interview show, ‘Between Two Ferns with Zach Glifianakis’. In fact, it has gained special attention thanks to an atypical interview format that includes the regular interview questions, some non sequiturs, and questions and comments about sex that might be deemed inappropriate. This show earned him a Primetime Emmy Award as the producer. Interviewees include, among others, Michael Cera, Natalie Portman, Justin Bieber, and Barack Obama.

His role as Alan Garner in the comedy hit ‘The Hangover’ earned him an MTV Movie Award for Best Comedic Performance. He reprised his role in 2011 in ‘The Hangover Part II’. As of 2015, he is negotiating voicing ‘The Joker’ in the Lego Batman movie, to air in 2017.

He has been married to Quinn Lundberg since 2012. Quinn is the co-founder of the Growing Voices charity. One year later, on September 2013, they had their first child, a boy.  He missed the premiere of his movie ‘Are You Here’ in order to be at the birth.
