Sixth Season of Hot in Cleveland
“After five incredible season of Hot In Cleveland, the sixth season, currently in production, will be its last,” TV Land president Larry W. Jones announced today. Betty White and the rest of the seasoned women from the hit comedy series will end their run on TV Land after over half a decade on the air.
Hot in Cleveland stars Golden Girls survivor Betty White as a caretaker in Cleveland, Ohio where Valerie Bertinelli (playing a divorced mom) and Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick– both Hollywood has-beens. The show brought back Betty White’s unique comic timing after shorter stints on shows like Boston Legal and The Bold and the Beautiful.
No reason was announced as to why the show will not return for further seasons, as it consistently averages over two million viewers each week and earned White back-to-back SAG Awards as well as an Emmy nomination. After canceling one-season shows Kirstie and Jennifer Falls, it seems TV Land will rely heavily on new series Impastor, Teachers, Younger and The Gaffigan Show when the “hot” Cleveland gals are gone.
A Christmas-themed episode will be the series' last, taking place on December 17th.
'It’s been an honor to work with Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves, Wendie Malick and the incomparable Betty White as well as our executive producers Suzanne Martin, Todd Milliner, Sean Hayes and the rest of our exceptional writers, production team and crew,' TV Land’s Larry Jones said.
“The passion and talent they brought to the set each and every week over the past five years has put TV Land on the map as a network dedicated to quality original programming.”
'We will continue to celebrate the show and are looking forward to a fantastic series finale.'
